Palisander Sideboard von Robert Heritage für Archie Shine, 1970er
This 1970s sun-bleached rosewood sideboard was designed by Robert Heritage for the furniture makers Archie Shine. The piece, which was sourced from the original owners, was purchased from Heals of London in 1977 and still retains its original delivery label sellotaped to the back. It consists of a two-door cupboard with an adjustable shelf and four drawers, one of which is a felt-lined cutlery drawer. The unit has a rosewood exterior, a teak interior, and features in-laid rosewood handles. The cabinet is firm and stable. There is a dark patch on the back left corner of the top which appears to have been shielded from exposure to light and has retained its original color. A couple of the inlaid handles (on the cupboard) have got some old splits, but are intact and there is no movement on them (please see photos).
